Zane Pepper was crowned King and Devon Braniger was crowned Queen during the opening ceremonies at the 156th Coshocton County Fair. The ceremonies were held Saturday morning, September 29, in the Rotary Pavilion on the Coshocton County Fairgrounds.

"We are proud to have two of Coshocton County's best to represent our fair," Fairboard President Steve Croft said.  "Our King and Queen will be busy during the Junior Fair activities scheduled for the next six days, and will serve as role models for our youth in all the county organizations," Croft said.

The morning was cool but pleasant for the 2007 Coshocton County Fair Opening Ceremonies with Fair Board President Steve Croft and Mayor Tim Turner officially cutting the ribbon at the Rotary Pavilion. Also present were County Commissioners Gary Fischer and Dane Shryock, State Senator Joy Padgett, as well as several queens representing other organizations.

Members of county youth organizations Farm Bureau Youth, Junior Grange, Girls Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4-H and FFA were present to promote their organizations and activities at the fair.

Devon Braniger, chosen as queen, is the daughter of Linda and George Braniger, and is a 10-year member of the Oxford 4-H Club and Ridgewood FFA. Zane Pepper, selected as king, is the son of Julie and Don Pepper and is a 10 year member of the Active Achievers 4-H Club. He attends River View High School.

Appreciation is extended to the Coshocton County Agricultural Society and the House of G A Fisher for the court jewelry, Liberty Pottery for the special queen and king gifts of pottery, the Olde Warehouse Restaurant in Roscoe Village for dining certificates, Sue’s Florist and Hallmark for the court flowers, the Garden Patch Greenhouse for stage flowers, Creative Stitches for making the sashes, and Mike Bechtol – WTNS for being master of ceremonies.

Completing the court were King runners-up Chris Rinehart, Evan Schonauer, and Jesse Wright. In the Queen's Court were Katie Haumschild, Nicole Hosfelt, and Rebecca Hutchison.
