The 2007 King & Queen Candidates...

Interviews were held recently for the 2007 Coshocton County Fair King and Queen Court, and the following candidates were selected. Members of the county youth organizations will vote to select the 2007 Coshocton County Fair King and Queen. The king and queen will be revealed in the Rotary Pavilion at the opening ceremonies of the fair on Saturday morning, September 29.

Zane Pepper

Zane Pepper
, son of Julie and Don Pepper, is a ten-year member of the Active Achievers 4-H Club where he has held many offices, been a camp counselor, been an Ohio State Fair Delegate for eight years-having received Outstanding of the Day awards and has received the coveted clock trophy four times. He is a member of the Junior Fair Board, Junior Leaders, and was a delegate to Washington DC Focus. He attends River View and is in the National Honor Society, Who’s Who, varsity soccer, basketball, baseball, SADD, Leo Club, and other organizations. Zane attends the Keene UM Church where he participates in youth fellowship and Kid’s Club.

 



Devon Braniger

Devon Braniger
, the daughter of Linda and George Braniger, is a ten-year member of the Oxford 4-H Club where she has been involved in many community service projects. She has shown rabbits, chickens, hogs, and horses at the fair. Devon is very active in the Ridgewood FFA attending state and national conventions, serving on numerous community service committees, being a state proficiency winner in Small Animal Production and Entrepreneurship, and receiving third place in diversified livestock with her chickens and rabbits. She has participated in soil judging, general livestock judging, poultry judging, aquarium management, and state forestry contests. Devon is also a cheerleader.

 



Chris Rinehart

Chris Rinehart, son of Carol and Karl Rinehart, is an eight-year member of Keene Junior Farmers 4-H Club where he has won awards for numerous poultry and shooting sports projects on the county and state level. He has been involved in Junior Leaders, the Junior Fairboard, and was a 4-H Ambassador at the Ohio State Fair. At River View he participates in five bands, Certified Gold, choir, and chess club.  He is active in the FFA chapter. Chris participates in the Village Baptist Church youth group and choir.



Katie Haumschild


Katie Haumschild
, daughter of Jean and Mike Haumschild, is a 12-year member of Kamelid Kushers 4-H Club. She has held numerous offices, been a Medal of Honor recipient, and has been a camp counselor. Through the Junior Leaders’ Club, she has assisted with the April Kick-off and summer Evaluation days. In FFA she has participated in forestry judging, soil judging, and received the junior GPA award. At River View she is a member of the Student Council, Link Crew, Muskingum Valley Leadership Seminar, Teen Institute, French Club, and Varsity Basketball-she is a three-year letterman, achieved the Defensive Award, was All Conference, and All District second team. Katie attends the Warsaw Presbyterian Church.



Evan Schonauer


Evan Schonauer
, son of Robin and

Doug Schonauer, is a nine-year member of Ridgerunners 4-H Club having taken market hogs, steers, feeder calves, and heifers.  He participates in Junior Leaders, Junior Fairboard, and has been a camp counselor. At River View Evan is active in varsity soccer, basketball, Math Club, Lettermen’s Club, and SADD.



Nicole Hosfelt


Nicole Hosfelt
, daughter of Marcia and Rick Hosfelt, is a nine-year member of the Equine Explorers 4-H Club. She has shown horses at the county and state fair, shown goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and participated in public speaking on the county level. She has received many showmanship and has had numerous champion and reserve champion animals. She has been a camp counselor for Junior Camp and Horse Camp. Nicole is active at River View being a cheerleader, belonging to SADD, Leo Club, and the National Honor Society. She attends the American Legion Junior Auxiliary and is on the Junior Fairboard.



Jesse Wright


Jesse Wright
, son of Mary and Carl Wright, is a 12-year member of Keene Kountry Kids 4-H Club where he has held various offices, as well as taken wood, small engine, and goat projects. He participates in the Junior Leaders. Being an active member of the River View FFA, Jesse has earned his State FFA Degree, is chapter president, has participated on soils, agronomy, and forestry judging teams, as well as parliamentary procedure, WLC, OLC, tractor trouble-shooting contest. He is a Walhonding Valley Farmer Trustee, along with other accomplishments. He has exhibited shop projects, hay, and livestock at the fair through FFA.



Rebecca Hutchison


Rebecca Hutchison
, daughter of Christina and Randy Hutchison, is a nine-year member of Premium Ag Kids 4-H Club where she has held several offices, and has shown sheep at the fair. She is a Junior Leader, on the Beef, Sheep and Swine Teen Board, on the Junior Fair Board, and has been a 4-H Junior Camp counselor for three years.  Rebecca attended the Cooperative Opportunity on Leadership Youth Tour for two years. At River View she is active in Leo Club, SADD, Student Council and the FFA chapter. She has participated in FFA Camp, judging teams, and other activities. She is a member of the Farm Bureau Youth organization. Rebecca attends Nellie Chapel UM Church and participated in the youth group.
