| The 2008 King & Queen Candidates... |
Interviews were held recently for the 2008 Coshocton County Fair King and Queen Court, and the following candidates were selected. Members of the county youth organizations will vote to select the 2008 Coshocton County Fair King and Queen. The king and queen will be revealed in the Rotary Pavilion at the opening ceremonies of the fair on Saturday morning, September 27.

 Morgan Carey
Morgan Carey, son of Mary Chase-Carey, is a four-year member and vice president of River View FFA, president of the This-N-That 4-H Club, and is a member of the County Junior Fairboard. Through 4-H and FFA he has had a grand champion angora goat, champion feeder calf and has been a county winner in the Discovery 4-H project. At River View Morgan participates in SADD, Student Council, Leo Club, National Honor Society, and is a member of the National Honor Roll. In the community he is involved in the Walhonding Valley Fire Association, was a class member of Coshocton County Youth Leadership, and is a member of the Coshocton Nazarene Church. |

 Jessica Crawford
Jessica Crawford, daughter of Jim and Lisa Crawford, is an eight-year member of the Active Achievers 4-H Club having shown her horses and dog at the fair for several years. She is also a thirteen-year member of Girl Scouts working on her gold award. Jessica is a three-year member of the County Junior Fairboard, currently serving as secretary. At River View she participates in the band, having been a drum major for three years, and SADD club. Being a member of Roscoe UM Church, she has participated in the Roscoe Church Orchestra for five years.

 Michael Hedrick
Michael Hedrick, son of Wendell and Linda Hedrick, is a four-year member and treasurer of River View FFA through which he has entered shop projects at the county fair. Also, he is vice-president of the Ridgerunners 4-H Club through which he has shown hog projects at the county fair for nine years. He also is a member of the 4-H Beef, Sheep and Swine Teen Board, a student trustee of the Walhonding Valley Farmers, a member of the County Junior Leader Club, and has volunteered as a 4-H Camp counselor. At River View Michael is on the Board of Directors for the Leo Club. |

 Sara Beth Daugherty
Sara Beth Daugherty, daughter of Michael and Barbara Daugherty, has been in 4-H for eight years as a member of Cool Keene Kids and Active Achiever 4-H Clubs where she has held various offices and served on many committees. She has shown pygmy goats for seven years and has won various awards including showmanship and the best of doe show. Sara is a three-year member of the County Junior Leaders, involved in the County Junior Fairboard, has volunteered as a 4-H camp counselor, was chosen for the Citizenship Washington Focus trip, and has competed at the Ohio State Fair in clothing and nutrition projects-winning an Outstanding of the Day Award. Being in Girl Scouts for four years, Sara earned numerous badges and was involved in many community projects. At River View she is a class officer, plays basketball and volleyball, is involved in the choir and spring musicals, belongs to SADD, Global Society, Math Club, TLC, provides Peer Tutoring, and other volunteer programs. Sara is a member of the Keene UM Church where she participates in the choir and is a Kids’ Club volunteer. |

 Morgan Landis
Morgan Landis, son of Duane Landis, is a two-year member of the River View FFA chapter where he is vice president and has participated in state contests of Agriculture Communications and the Envirothon and placed fourth in agronomy. He has taken a horse to the fair for five years and participated in the roping contests. In the community Morgan is an eleven-year member of the USTRC and has competed at the American Quarter Horse Congress. He belongs to the 63rd OVI COHZO Volunteer Infantry and the 1st OH Battery A Statehouse Battery 5th Kentucky and the 1st OH Battery L. Gibbs where he has been reenacting the Civil War for eight years He is a certified gunner and works on the guns that sit at the Statehouse.

 Jenni Gilmore
Jenni Gilmore, daughter of Tim and Pam Gilmore, is a nine-year member of 4-H and has taken numerous projects including sewing, cooking, woodworking, and self-determined. She has been chosen county winner and has participated at the state fair with several projects. Jenni has been chosen for several awards including 2007-2008 State 4-H Ambassador and the 2006 Citizenship Washington Focus trip. She participates in the County Junior Leadership Club, the County Junior Fairboard, the Food, Fashion and Family Board, and the Ohio Teen Conference. In the community she has been involved in the 2008 Coshocton County Youth Leadership, Coshocton County Advisory Board, and chosen 2005 Coshocton Canal Festival Princess. At River View she participates in the marching band and belongs to the National Honor Society. |

 Luke Widder
Luke Widder, son of Les and Dana Widder, is an eleven-year member of the Active Achievers 4-H Club where he has taken a variety of projects including cooking, photography, rocketry, golf, and leadership. At River View he is active in the annual musicals, the Quiz Team, Math Club, Light Club, Global Society, SADD, Letterman’s Club, basketball, and track. Luke is actively involved in the Marching, Symphonic, Jazz, Pep and Caribbean bands. He participates in numerous choirs including Chamber Choir, Certified Gold Chorale, Cardinal Chorale, and the Ohio State Fair Youth Choir. He is an avid pianist and trumpet player and has won many honors and competitions in those areas. Luke belongs to the Ohio State Grange youth organization. He is a member of the Roscoe UM Church and is active in the youth group TGIF and is a teen helper for special needs and children’s ministries. |

 Lindsey Good
Lindsey Good, daughter of Rosa Robertson and Steven Good, is an eight-year member of Milfork Valley 4-H Club where she has held various offices and taken self-determined, special interest, horses, and goat projects. Lindsey is a twelve-year member of the senior Girl Scout Troop #457 and has achieved the bronze and silver awards. She is also a three-year member of River View FFA where she has participated in many contests and activities including agriculture communications, job interview, public speaking, and horse judging. At River View she is a member of SADD, the Leo Club, and the National Honor Society. She has been involved in the County Junior Fairboard for four years and is a four-year member of the County Junior Leadership Club. In the community she was the Coshocton Canal Festival Queen.
